I met Kate & Andy back in November at the Bodleian open evening and they told me all about their wedding at The Queen’s College followed by their reception at the Bodleian Library.
It was only when I met them afterwards at Kate’s parent’s house that they told me the story of how an unofficial engagement lead to the very quick planning of their beautiful wedding. This is definitely a couple that know what they want and aren’t afraid to go after it!
This was my first time photographing at Queen’s College and it was utterly beautiful. The first view of the building with the path lined with topiary and blossom trees is stunning. The chapel is housed to the right and Kate got ready in one of the rooms off the back quad.
Hair and make up was by the fabulous Claire at Mach Management. A fellow Northener, she is so warm and bubbly and very good at her job! Kate’s beautiful dress and veil were by Pronovias and her shoes by Rainbow. The stunning flowers were by Fabulous Flowers and the bridesmaid’s dresses by Debenhams.
Excited guests started to arrive and popped in to see the preparations. Andy and the boys were excitedly waiting at the chapel entrance. Once Kate was ready, she and her Dad and bridesmaids made their way down the cloisters to the front of college where she could make a fabulous entrance up the path.
The huge doors at the front of the college had been opened specially (only done on special occasions) so that passers by could get a glimpse of the proceedings.
After the ceremony the guests enjoyed drinks and canapes in the Provost Garden we made the most of the cloisters and the Fellowes garden for photographs.
Then it was on to the Bodleian Library and the bride and groom arrived in style in a vintage Rolls Royce by First Class Travel. The Bodleian looked as stunning as ever. Catering was by Goose & Berry the Groom’s sister had made the stunning cake. Thank you for inviting me to photograph your beautiful wedding!
