Anna & Simon had their beautiful Lains Barn wedding back in July. This was my first time working at Lains Barn but it’s a stunning barn venue with a courtyard area, outdoor terrace and pizza oven. If you didn’t know already, barn weddings are probably my favourite to photograph just because I love the rustic look and they are so naturally beautiful, they need very little decoration to make them look incredible.
Anna & Simon both hail from Germany originally but now live in Oxfordshire and wanted to embrace the beautiful countryside so chose to have their wedding in this gorgeous location. It was a very different wedding from any I’ve done before because the whole ceremony was conducted in German which made it quite interesting when I was listening for cues!
Anna looked stunning in her gorgeous gown which was topped off with a beautiful flower crown which was by Jemini. Simon wore a navy blue suit with a bowtie which made for a cool combination. Their guests had flown in to spend their special day with them. Anna & Simon had decorated the venue with giant blue balloons and they had a surfboard as their guest book – Anna is a keen surfer. It was a really emotional and lovely day and they both spent quite a bit of time with me for their couple portraits which we did in the amazing cornfield next to the barn.
